Review is in: Leanne Marshall Project Runway Collection

Now that the complete Leanne Marshall Project Runway collection has been made available on Bluefly, we can share more specifics on the manufacturing and textile composition. Happily, the line has been manufactured in the USA, which is a huge plus.

However, the tencel/rayon blends with silk lining are Dry Clean only and not as eco-friendly as a bamboo/organic cotton blend, which many lines (including Sublet and Ryann) use successfully for a beautiful drape. As for the pieces, other than the gorgeous (and not-realy-eco) blue gown we showed you yesterday, the standout of the bunch would have to be the 100% bamboo jacket (above). It is machine wash and styled to be worn in different ways, but we really wish it was done in a bold color in addition to basic khaki.

Check out another review and see what the fabulous Green Grechen had to say about the Leanne Marshall line. Her honesty is always refreshing.

Lizzie Parker Opens New Eco Atelier

We were so delighted to hear that one of our favorite eco designers, Lizzie Parker, was bringing eco fashion to the Seattle's Eastside in her new Eco-Atelier opening this week in Issaquah's Gilman Village. We were first in line to interview Lizzie as she opened the shop this week.

Combining her design studio with an open, airy shop allows Lizzie to make your fashion dreams happen almost immediately. We witnessed this first hand when a discussion with some customers about a 'better legging' turned into on-the-spot inspiration earlier this week. Visit this weekend and you will find those brand new, hot-off-the-sewing machine leggings, as requested. They'll be displayed alongside Lizzie's flowing tops, sleek tees, and convertible dresses in a certified bamboo jersey that will take you through the Spring, Summer and beyond. Also featured: Olsen Haus vegan footwear and handbags from Clutch.

This weekend, April 24-26 marks the store's official opening, with an unbelievable deal on Lizzie's trademark long sleeve bamboo tees - just 2/$40. Stop by between 10-6 Fri/Sat or 12-5 on Sunday and welcome Lizzie to the neighborhood!

Sneak Peek: More Bamboo Knits for FALL 2008

We have a waiting list for customers anxious to get their hands into the luscious 100% bamboo jersey knit armwarmers made famous (and sold out) last season. Well, we are happy to report that the colors for this coming Fall season are even better than last - ruby red, plummy purple, charcoal, and our favorite black and olive. Not to mention some really fun pieces like hooded scarves and a matching heathered scarf and armwarmer set.

Maybe it's because the air here still has a bite to it, or more likely we are just anxious to make all you lovely Fashion Ethic customers happy, but this is definitely one of those deliveries we are just counting down the days for!

(Photo here shows Fall 2007 colors) To be notified when Fall 08 bamboo gloves (or other bamboo pieces) are available for sale, please send a quick email to customerservice@fashionethic.com. Thanks!
