Spotlight Item of the Week: Sublet "Bianca" Cowl Dress

Thanksgiving is just a week and a half away! Before we know it, all the holiday glitter and glam will be upon us, which means it's time to plan your holiday party wear NOW.

The "Bianca" dress from Sublet Clothing is an easy dress to wear and can be styled in countless ways. Wear it over a long sleeve tee for a cozy-casual layered look, and when it really gets chilly, wear it over leggings or skinny jeans. Don't forget that it's equally stunning on it's own, featuring exquisite pleating and a generous cowl, with a beautiful drape, thanks to the organic cotton/bamboo blend.

The deep berry hue is definitely on-trend this season (and well into next year) and cheerful enough to wear year-round. Fortunately, this blend is the perfect seasonless weight: not too filmy, not too heavy.

So darlings, you'll get miles of style out of this one little dress. And as our spotlight item of the week, you'll save a ton of $$$ too. The "Bianca" is on special for this week only, $110 . You'll find it elsewhere for $165, which is still a killer deal, so hurry up and make it yours this week!

Fall08 Preview: Sublet Clothing

The Sublet line marks their second season with fabulous pieces in their signature organic cotton/bamboo blend fabric that drapes like a dream and feels like heaven. The pieces for Fall all have "B" names, after the label's debut Spring season with pieces like the "Allison," the "Anais" and the "Anne"...are we sensing a pattern here?

One thing that is for certain is that designer duo Tara and Inessah have put a lot of thought into their Fall collection and chosen a few uber of-the-moment colors for their sophisticated-but-comfy creations. Witness the Alex tee in "Taxi" and Bianca dress in "Berry", shown above. They arrive (with a few other fabulous garments) at Fashion Ethic next month, but you saw them here first.

Check Out Eco-Fashion Month at Grechen's Closet

If you haven't heard of GrechensCloset.com, you best get over to this useful site and check it out. After running a successful blog/shopping directory/discount code resource/apparel review site for quite some time, Grechen has increasingly been moving her site toward the realm of eco fashion.

Just as most Fashionably Responsible consumers do, she started with small eco steps here and there, and has gone full force, declaring June "Eco-Month" at GrechensCloset.com. So head on over for interviews with eco designers and retailers (including yours truly) and recent reviews of green fashion items galore, including the new 100% certified organic cotton SPUN line (available in entirety only here at Fashion Ethic), and her review of the Sublet "Anais" cardigan and Peligrosa 3-fold cami back on June 5th, as pictured.

Rocking the "Runway" at Sole Repair Shop

Thanks to all the lovely Seattle girls who came out tonight on Capital Hill as Girl Power Hour went green/eco/sustainable...Here at Fashion Ethic, we say Darnell and Samantha are officially "Fashionably Responsible" for putting on such a great event. The evening was a blur of eco-conscious tips and sustainable styles and Fashion Ethic was happy to be a part of it.

Thanks also to those of you who came by with well wishes. We shut the place down, there were so many people to talk to! And to the fabulous models who helped showcase spring dresses and jewelry from Fashion Ethic - thanks again! You guys rock!

If you are looking for one of the dresses that made its way around the Shop last night, all but one are available online right now! From Left-Right: The Ryann hemp/silk tunic and safari-inspired jewelry will be online next week; the red asymmetrical organic cotton dress from Naturevsfuture is HERE; the silk floral print EDUN dress is HERE, and the grecian-pleated mini from Sublet can be found HERE,

Shop Safari Styles

At Fashion Ethic we strive to buy on trend, but with a mindful eye towards pieces that will last you once that trend has come and gone.

For this season's Safari looks, start with one of Ryann's bamboo tops as your base. These soft-but-durable ivory garments have fantastic drape and lend effortless sophistication to any outfit.

Adorn yourself with natural jewelry like our Kukui Seed necklace or Coconut bracelets. They'll lend a safari/tribal air to anything you pair them with - and are certainly budget friendly!

Lastly, for a luxe-safari feel (the type of trip where you partake in a cocktail at the lodge as the sun sets over the savannah), nothing could be better than the "Alison" dress by Sublet in natural. This remarkable dress hits on the grecian pleating trend, the dress trend, and the safari look - all in one well-priced piece...talk about sustainable style!
